Project: Marketing Partnership
Everything PromiseShip does is centered around families and helping them become strong units built on a foundation of love, confidence and independence. There’s no better way to strengthen our community than by helping families be families.
PromiseShip’s number one goal is to preserve the family so they can heal as a unit. If the family has been separated, they move towards family reunification. In cases where reunification is not possible, they help children find forever families.
In March of 2015, PromiseShip partnered with Say Hey There to regularly create, publish and manage content and creative — primarily on digital platforms (like pushing out messages on social media and blog posts). Utilizing our partnership model, Say Hey There complements PromiseShip’s internal marketing team by being a support system that steps in to lend guidance and services on an ongoing basis.
Since then, we have been proud to help PromiseShip with marketing initiatives, community engagement and management, PR strategy, campaign development and management, and designing creative. Scroll through this page to check out all the ways we’ve helped the organization grow!
Social Media Calendar & Campaigns
We work with PromiseShip each month to create and publish an engaging editorial calendar for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as well as develop specific social campaigns and manage advertising.
Campaigns have been for capital such as year-end appeals and Omaha Gives! as well as for material goods such as the Duffels 4 Dignity program which asks the public for duffel bags for children entering the foster care system.
We have produced a series of videos to highlight real family stories about how PromiseShip has made a positive impact on their lives to serve as an effective tool in compelling current and future donors to support PromiseShip by “giving a gift today to help all families be families.”
From time to time, PromiseShip has enlisted our help to develop marketing materials such as holiday cards to their donors and employee engagement assets. We also design social media assets on a regular basis.
To help bring an important campaign — Duffels 4 Dignity — to life, we knew we needed original photography, not stock. The only problem is that it’s very difficult to photograph foster children, partially due to gathering parental consent, and partially to protect anonymity.
We helped by organizing a photo shoot to capture images of local children whose parents were eager to help spread the word about the program. We ended up with great photos that visually capture the importance of making sure every child in foster care receives a duffel bag to carry their treasured possessions.
PromiseShip uses Bloomerang for their donor management software and email platform, and we stepped in to help create and deliver internal and external emails using this platform.
Mikala’s hard work ethic, high integrity, and desire to always do what is right, make her an extremely reliable and valuable asset to our organization. Over time, Mikala has helped grow our social media presence and general brand awareness through her support of our internal marketing team.
It’s been my pleasure to partner with Say Hey There over the years and work directly with Mikala on a variety of long-term and one-time projects.
